THE VIEW is a building with spectacular views and, at the same time, has a special elegance and homely atmosphere. It was built with a simple, distinct and functional design around 40 years ago between two listed buildings on Schöneberger Ufer. In order to adapt it to its new use, the building will be completely refurbished and extended to the rear. The two upper floors will be spacious setback floors. A total of 50 high-end apartments will be created.
The building will have a modern façade with large windows set between large panelled areas, creating structure. The warm tone of the material complements the golden colours of the Kulturforum buildings opposite designed by Scharoun. Distinctive building materials, such as the black open-pore lava stone used for the ground floor façade, give the building a stylish appearance.

The new heart of Berlin beats where Germany was once divided. Famous in the 1920s as the hub of Europe, Potsdamer Platz has been reestablished as an urban district for business, shopping and culture following reunification in the 1990s. The Bahntower and Sony Center, Kollhoff-Turm and Beisheim-Center buildings are the new landmarks of Potsdamer Platz. The development of the area continues apace, with the largest city centre shopping quarter in Berlin.
CLASSIC, SOPHISTICATED, ICONIC
The Philharmonie and Kammermusiksaal, as well as the Neue Nationalgalerie, are internationally renowned institutions located at the gateway to Potsdamer Platz. Since reunification, culture has once again become established on what was once wasteland in Berlin’s centre. The Stage Theater, which opened in 1999, presents spectacular stage performances and musicals. The modern theatre and site of the ‘Berlinale’ international film festival is flanked by luxurious hotels with Michelin star restaurants.
Berlin’s old and new embassy quarter is located within a stone’s throw of Schöneberger Ufer. Even before the start of World War II, foreign embassies took up residence in the stately mansions in one of the city’s most magnificent neighbourhoods. The glory of the former diplomatic quarter was restored in the 1990s, when Berlin was once again declared Germany’s capital. Other international institutions enjoy the splendid location on the Landwehrkanal opposite THE VIEW.
ENJOYING THE WEEKEND
Berlin residents love the tranquillity of life in their neighbourhoods. Few German cities exhibit such a distinctive neighbourhood life as the German capital does, with its quaint street cafés, unique shops and attractive weekly markets. The famous market held on Winterfeldtplatz offers good quality and fresh produce, tasty snacks as well as creative fashion products, jewellery and much more. KaDeWe, the famous Kaufhaus des Westens, caters for those who prefer the leading international brands.
A MARVELLOUS GARDEN FOR ALL
The Tiergarten, within walking distance of THE VIEW, has been a ‘pleasure garden for the public’ since the times of Frederick the Great. It stretches from the Zoological Gardens in the west to Brandenburg Gate, from the embassy quarter in the south to the Spree in the north. Numerous paths, panoramic views, bridges and lakes provide ample scope for relaxation: strolling, jogging, playing football, barbecuing, boating or just relaxing with a cool beer in the Café am Neuen See.
